Christophe YVES
Dancer

Christophe received a grant to participate in the Green Factory project organized by the Centre National de la Danse.

What is your artistic background?
I was born in Marseille in 1973. As a young adult, I trained as a pastry chef. I then learned jazz and contemporary dance respectively at the Café de la Danse and the CNSM in Paris, from which I graduated in 1997. Since then, my work as a dancer continues and takes different forms.

How do you see your profession today?
Dancer, choreographer, assistant, teacher, these different hats cross over and contribute towards my professional goals. I am passionate about sharing my experience with young artists. Through their contact, I question and renew my vision and my practice. Otherwise, it is a fragile profession like all artistic professions, culture clearly not being a national priority.

How do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
I don't have a crystal ball, so I would say: let’s not change anything and just try to improve...
